SITE AND SUBDIVISION DESIGN / PERMITTING

We offer complete civil engineering and permitting expertise for site plans (grading, utilities, parking, drainage), subdivisions (internal road design, pavement structures, roadside drainage), preliminary and final platting (title and topographic surveys), drainage analysis / design (FEMA permitting), OSSF design / permitting, and geotechnical sampling / lab work.

COMPLEX DRAINAGE / FLOODPLAIN ANALYSIS

We are expert in the use of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM), culvert modeling code (HY-8, Culvert Master), 2D flow modeling (FLO-2D), storm drain network modeling / design and others. We have developed and processed through FEMA many Letters of Map Revision (CLOMR’s and LOMR’s) and performed forensic drainage investigations in support of litigation.

TRANSPORTATION

Saxon Loomis has a significant expertise in the design of private, municipal, county, and state roads including major highways for TxDOT. Our experience includes design of vertical and horizontal alignments, intersection geometries, retaining walls, pavement structural characteristics, typical cross sections, parallel and crossing drainage structures, storm-sewer networks, traffic control signage, erosion and sedimentation control; and cost analysis in accordance with AASHTO, TxDOT, and TCEQ requirements.

STRUCTURAL DESIGN

We provide structural design services for retaining walls (cantilever, segmental, gravity, MSE, cantilever tilt-up), hydraulic structures (dams, junction boxes, custom manholes), building footings and foundations (slab-on-grade, pier and pile, expansive soils), residential wood structures, commercial (pylon signs, overhead warning barriers), and pavement design (parking, roads).

LANDFILL / MINING SITE FORENSICS

We provide expert consultation services related to municipal and private landfill structures design and operations, and lignite mining facilities across Texas. This typically includes complex drainage permitting analysis in support of litigation along with design and operations forensics analysis for landfill sites.
